Job description
We are seeking a motivated Staff Geologist to join our expanding geoscience team in Denver, Colorado. The ideal candidate will conduct field investigations, core logging, mapping, and environmental assessments while contributing to high-quality project deliverables.
In this role you will collaborate with geologists, engineers, and environmental scientists to interpret geological data, support permitting, and deliver actionable insights to clients. This position offers hands-on fieldwork, opportunities for growth, and a supportive, safety-focused culture.
Responsibility
- Conduct field reconnaissance, mapping, and sampling of rock, soil, water, and geotechnical materials.
- Log core and cuttings; document geological features, lithology, and stratigraphy.
- Prepare and analyze field and laboratory samples; manage QA/QC procedures.
- Interpret geological data using GIS, CAD, and specialized software; produce maps and cross-sections.
- Support environmental baseline studies, site assessments, and regulatory reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams on project planning, scheduling, budgets, and health and safety compliance.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and client deliverables; communicate findings clearly to stakeholders.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geosciences, or a closely related field; master's preferred.
- 0-5+ years of field geology experience, mineral exploration, or environmental/geotechnical projects.
- Proficiency with GIS (ArcGIS, QGIS) and geological software; strong core logging skills.
- Solid field safety practices; valid driver's license; ability to travel to field sites and offices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to interpret data and present findings clearly.
- Knowledge of sedimentology, stratigraphy, structural geology; familiarity with permitting and regulatory requirements.
- Physically capable of challenging fieldwork in varied weather conditions; valid passport for potential international sites.
