As a Staff Pharmacist, you will lead daily operations, supervise pharmacy technicians, and ensure adherence to regulatory standards and best practices.
Responsibility
- Accurately interpret and dispense prescriptions while ensuring patient safety and regulatory compliance.
- Provide clinical counseling on medications, interactions, and adherence strategies to patients and caregivers.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to optimize treatment plans and resolution of therapy issues.
- Oversee inventory management, controlled substance controls, and medication procurement to maintain appropriate stock levels.
- Verify prescription data entry, perform final checks, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Educate customers on over-the-counter products and wellness programs to promote proactive health management.
- Mentor and support pharmacy technicians, students, and interns; uphold a culture of service excellence.
- Maintain accurate documentation for audits, quality assurance, and regulatory reporting.
Qualification
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree or equivalent; active pharmacist license in California.
- Minimum 2 years of hospital or community pharmacy experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, and patient safety protocols.
- Excellent clinical communication and counseling skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Proficiency with pharmacy software (PMS), ePrescribing, and medication therapy management tools.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Commitment to HIPAA compliance, quality assurance, and regulatory standards.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
