As a Staff Pharmacist, you will ensure safe and effective medication use, deliver comprehensive patient counseling, and collaborate with prescribers to optimize therapy. Responsibility
- Provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients, ensuring safe and effective medication use across hospital and community settings.
- Counsel patients on medications, dosages, potential side effects, interactions, and adherence strategies.
- Review and verify medication orders, resolve discrepancies, and collaborate with prescribers to optimize therapy.
- Prepare, dispense, and label medications accurately; ensure appropriate storage and handling.
- Monitor patient therapy outcomes and report adverse events in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Lead and mentor pharmacy technicians; support workflow optimization and accuracy in dispensing processes.
- Participate in formulary assessment, medication utilization reviews, and clinical initiatives to improve patient safety.
- Maintain rigorous compliance with HIPAA, USP standards, and state/federal regulations to safeguard patient care.
Qualification
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent degree with active pharmacist license in Massachusetts (or eligible for licensure).
- 2+ years of hospital or community pharmacy experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacotherapy, drug interactions, contraindications, and medication safety.
- Excellent communication and counseling skills; patient-centered approach.
- Proficiency with pharmacy information systems and software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, or other PIS).
- Detail-oriented, with ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.
- Commitment to regulatory compliance, quality improvement, and patient safety initiatives.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including occasional weekends or holidays as required.
