Responsibility

  • Provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients, ensuring safe and effective medication use across hospital and community settings.
  • Counsel patients on medications, dosages, potential side effects, interactions, and adherence strategies.
  • Review and verify medication orders, resolve discrepancies, and collaborate with prescribers to optimize therapy.
  • Prepare, dispense, and label medications accurately; ensure appropriate storage and handling.
  • Monitor patient therapy outcomes and report adverse events in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and mentor pharmacy technicians; support workflow optimization and accuracy in dispensing processes.

Qualification

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent degree with active pharmacist license in Massachusetts (or eligible for licensure).
  • 2+ years of hospital or community pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacotherapy, drug interactions, contraindications, and medication safety.
  • Excellent communication and counseling skills; patient-centered approach.
  • Proficiency with pharmacy information systems and software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, or other PIS).
