Responsibility
- Research, report, and write accurate stories across beats with speed and clarity
- Develop sources, conduct interviews, verify facts, and adhere to ethical standards
- Collaborate with editors, photographers, and digital producers to produce multimedia content
- Break news quickly and craft enterprise features for print, online, and social channels
- Edit and polish copy for style, accuracy, and accessibility
- Manage assignments, meet deadlines, and balance multiple projects concurrently
- Pitch compelling enterprise stories and participate in investigative endeavors as needed
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of newsroom reporting experience
- Exceptional storytelling, writing, editing, and fact checking abilities
- Strong source development, interview techniques, and verification processes
- Proficiency with AP style and basic data journalism concepts
- Experience with multimedia reporting including video and photography
- Knowledge of New York City and regional issues; demonstrated ethical newsroom practices
