What you will do:

  • Develop and execute rigorous investigations from tip to publication, including data collection, FOIA requests, and source development.
  • Write clear, compelling, and accurate news features, investigations, and explainers for multi platform audiences.
  • Coordinate with editors, photographers, and producers to deliver high-impact stories under tight deadlines.
  • Verify facts, follow ethical journalism standards, and maintain meticulous sourcing records.
  • Analyze data, build datasets, and create visuals to augment stories.
  • Engage with audiences on social platforms, newsletters, and the newsroom digital channels.
  • Mentor junior reporters and contribute to newsroom innovation initiatives.

Requirements include a strong command of AP style, a track record of impactful reporting, and a passion for public-interest journalism. This is a full-time role with competitive salary and benefits, based in NYC with some remote flexibility.
