Join Aurora Performing Arts Collective, a dynamic NYC-based company producing contemporary theatre, dance, and multidisciplinary performance. We are seeking a proactive Stage Manager to lead productions from rehearsal to curtain, ensuring artistic vision is realized through precise coordination, calm leadership, and superb backstage operations.
As Stage Manager, you will collaborate with directors, designers, and technicians to shepherd productions on a fast-paced schedule while maintaining the highest standards of safety, organization, and audience experience. Responsibility
- Call shows and manage all stage operations from cue-to-cue across performances.
- Prepare and maintain production binders, run sheets, schedules, and contact lists.
- Coordinate rehearsals, script changes, and actor calls; maintain timely communications across departments.
- Oversee technical rehearsals, safety protocols, and risk assessments; ensure compliance with venue policies and union agreements if applicable.
- Collaborate with directors, designers, stage crew, and vendors to execute artistic intent.
- Support front-of-house with audience experience and post-show wrap-up.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts, Performing Arts, or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of professional stage management experience in theatre, dance, or multi-disciplinary productions.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills; ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Proficiency with QLab, Lightwright, Vectorworks, and MS Office; familiarity with production software.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cues and timelines.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and occasional travel; physical stamina to position and move risers and equipment.
- Knowledge of health and safety guidelines and basic union contracts (where applicable).
