As a Stage Manager, you will be the logistical backbone of productions, ensuring performances run smoothly from rehearsal to curtain. You will work closely with directors, designers, cast, and crew to deliver theatre that resonates with audiences.
Responsibility
- Lead all stage management functions for assigned productions from pre-production through final performance.
- Coordinate rehearsal schedules, call scripts, and run sheets; manage time and flow on stage.
- Serve as primary liaison among directors, designers, cast, and crew; maintain production calendars and deadlines.
- Cue lighting, sound, video, and automation during rehearsals and performances; ensure beat-by-beat accuracy.
- Maintain the production Bible, property lists, contact sheets, prop tracking, and safety procedures.
- Oversee cast call times, entrances, and actor needs; manage on-site contingency plans for emergencies.
- Collaborate with producers on budget adherence, show documentation, and post-production wrap-up.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in theater, performing arts, or related field or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum 3-5 years of stage management experience in theatre, dance, or multi-disciplinary performances.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities; calm under pressure and highly organized.
- Experience with show calling, rehearsal reporting, and running productions in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with stage management software and technical tools (e.g., QLab, ETC Eos, Word/Excel).
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel for touring productions if required.
