Responsibility
- Coordinate and cue all aspects of performances, rehearsals, and tech runs to ensure precise timing and safety.
- Lead backstage during performances, calls, and rehearsals; supervise stage crew, sound, lighting, and props.
- Maintain accurate show scripts, cue sheets, and communications logs; ensure version control.
- Collaborate with directors and designers to execute the artistic vision and scheduling.
- Oversee load-ins, load-outs, and run-throughs; manage cast and crew expectations and punctuality.
- Enforce safety protocols, union guidelines, and venue policies; document incidents and corrective actions.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate with sound, lighting, and automation teams in real time.
- Lead post-show debriefs and notes collection to inform future performances and maintenance planning.
Qualification
- Proven experience as a Stage Manager or in live theatre production, with track record in rehearsals and performances.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and decision-making under pressure.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cues across departments.
- Familiarity with stage management software, cueing systems, and script formatting.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and basic union guidelines; experience with working in a theatre venue.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and long-tech rehearsals; travel not required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts or related field preferred; equivalent professional experience considered.
