Responsibility

  • Lead rehearsal and performance schedules, ensuring on-time calls and clear communication across all teams.
  • Call cues during all performances, ensuring accurate timing of lighting, sound, cues, and scene changes.
  • Coordinate backstage operations, including set changes, prop management, and actor safety protocols.
  • Maintain and distribute prompt books, run sheets, and production paperwork.
  • Collaborate with directors and designers to implement artistic decisions while safeguarding the production's integrity.
  • Oversee health and safety compliance and coordinate with venues for load-in and strike logistics.
  • Lead post-show duties, including strike planning, inventory reconciliation, and debriefs with the team.

Qualification

  • 3+ years of professional stage management experience in theatre or equivalent
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational abilities with the capacity to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Deep knowledge of production processes from rehearsal to strike; proficient with prompt books and cueing
  • Familiarity with technical theatre equipment, lighting and sound cues, and safety procedures
  • Availability for tech weeks, previews, and evening/weekend performances
  • Ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams and foster an inclusive backstage culture
