As Stage Manager, you will be the operational backbone of each production, ensuring that artistic vision is realized with precision, safety, and efficiency.

We value collaboration, reliability, and a passion for the performing arts. If you thrive in a fast-paced, creative environment and have a track record of exceptional backstage leadership, we want to hear from you.

Responsibility

  • Manage all rehearsal and performance schedules, calls, and cueing to ensure timely, accurate show execution.
  • Lead backstage operations including prompt book maintenance, prop tracking, and safety protocols for each production.
  • Serve as primary liaison between directors, designers, performers, and crew; communicate decisions clearly and professionally.
  • Call cues during technical rehearsals and live performances; monitor timing and adjust as needed to maintain artistic vision.
  • Produce and maintain comprehensive production documentation (prompt book, show bible, run-of-show, risk assessments).
  • Coordinate with stage crew and load-in/load-out teams; supervise transitions, floor plans, and automation cues.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and union agreements; manage cast lists and related paperwork.
  • Foster a positive, organized backstage environment and mentor junior stage management staff.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Theatre, Dance, or related field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of stage management in professional live theatre or dance productions.
  • Proven ability to call cues, manage backstage operations, and maintain show integrity under pressure.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills; calm under tight deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills with experience using cueing software (QLab), show control, and MS Office.
  • Knowledge of union contracts, safety regulations, and cast paperwork management.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and flexible production schedules.
  • Team player with a collaborative mindset and commitment to equity and inclusion in productions.
