Responsibility

  • Lead stage management for all mainstage productions from rehearsal through strike, ensuring a polished, on-time performance.
  • Develop and maintain production call schedules, cue sheets, and show docs; call shows during performances when required.
  • Coordinate with directors, designers, stage crew, and technical teams to align on creative vision and technical needs.
  • Oversee rehearsal logistics, props, costumes, set changes, and on-stage transitions to minimize delays.
  • Maintain safety, compliance, and risk assessments; enforce union contracts and venue policies as applicable.
  • Maintain accurate show reports, audience accessibility notes, and post-show debriefs for continuous improvement.
  • Support touring productions and outreach events with logistical planning and on-site coordination.
  • Mentor and supervise assistant stage managers and interns to build a strong backstage team.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Theater, Dance, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3+ years of stage management experience in live theatre, dance, or opera productions.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities under pressure.
  • Ability to work long hours, including evenings, weekends, and intensive rehearsal periods.
  • Proficiency with stage management tools (QLab, Show Cue System, MS Office) and basic sound/lighting terminology.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple productions simultaneously.
