Join Aurora Theatre Company as a pivotal member of our production team. We are seeking an experienced Stage Manager to lead on-site coordination for live performances in London. You’ll collaborate with Directors, Designers, and Cast to ensure every show runs seamlessly from tech rehearsals to final curtain.

Responsibility

  • Lead stage management for all productions, calling cues and coordinating backstage operations to ensure smooth performances.
  • Create and maintain the prompt book, cue sheets, call sheets, and show reports to keep every team member informed.
  • Plan and run technical rehearsals and previews; coordinate with Directors, Designers, and Technicians to deliver the creative vision.
  • Manage cast and crew schedules, breaks, and emergencies while upholding health and safety standards.
  • Oversee set changes, props, and prop tracking; liaise with stage crew to maintain continuity between acts.
  • Coordinate communication between front-of-house, production, and venue teams to ensure seamless performances.
  • Maintain equipment inventories and coordinate routine maintenance and safety checks with vendors.

Qualification

  • Proven professional theatre stage management experience, with London-based work preferred.
  • Outstanding communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities; calm under pressure.
  • Proficiency with cueing systems (QLab or equivalent) and standard office tools.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail and multitasking capability.
  • Solid knowledge of health and safety regulations and emergency procedures.
  • Availability for evenings, weekends, tech weeks, and occasional travel.
  • Degree in Theatre Production or equivalent demonstrated experience (beneficial but not mandatory).
