CityLights Theatre Company is seeking a dynamic Stage Manager to lead production execution from rehearsals to opening night and beyond. As Stage Manager, you will oversee show calling, cueing, backstage coordination, and on-site safety, ensuring productions run smoothly from curtain up to curtain down.

Responsibility

  • Lead all stage management activities from rehearsals through final performance, including call times and cueing.
  • Create and maintain production calendars, prompt books, shift notes, and communication plans.
  • Coordinate with directors, designers, and technical crews to ensure timely and safe productions.
  • Call cues accurately during all performances; manage backstage flow and timing.
  • Oversee safety, equipment, and compliance with venue policies and union guidelines.
  • Manage cast and crew schedules, track absences, and coordinate replacements as needed.
  • Collaborate with front-of-house and production teams for seamless audience experience.
  • Lead post-show wrap, including reports, inventory, and debrief notes.

Qualification

  • Minimum 2-3 years of professional stage management experience in theatre or equivalent.
  • Proficiency with cueing systems (QLab/ETC), sound and lighting, and script supervision.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities; thrives under pressure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; strong collaboration skills across departments.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and tech weeks as productions require.
  • Bachelor's degree in Theater Arts or related field preferred; equivalent professional experience considered.
