In this role, you will perform structural analysis, prepare calculations and drawings, and produce design reports using ETABS, SAP2000, RAM Structural System, SAFE, AutoCAD, and Revit. You will ensure compliance with Malaysia's building codes and standards, participate in value engineering, and collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, and contractors to optimize constructability and cost. Responsibility
- Lead structural analysis, design, and documentation for building projects (concrete and steel) from concept to construction.
- Prepare and review drawings, calculations, and design reports using industry-standard software (ETABS, SAP2000, RAM, SAFE) and AutoCAD/Revit.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, Malaysian Standards, and client specifications; apply value engineering where appropriate.
- Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, contractors, and project managers to ensure integrated, constructible designs.
- Participate in site visits, construction supervision, and quality control to ensure design intent is realized in the field.
- Support project proposals, fee estimates, and tender documentation with accurate technical content.
- Mentor junior engineers, review work quality, and contribute to the team’s technical growth and knowledge sharing.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; professional engineer (PE/BEM) status or eligible is a plus.
- 3-7 years of relevant structural design and analysis experience for buildings or infrastructure.
- Strong proficiency in ETABS, SAP2000, RAM Structural System, SAFE, AutoCAD, and Revit.
- Solid knowledge of Malaysian building codes, standards, and design methodologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English; Malay proficiency is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and work well in a team-oriented environment.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed and adapt to field conditions.
