Job description
As a Technical Officer in Control and Instrumentation C&I at Meranti Power, you will be at the heart of our energy production operations. You will maintain and optimize the C&I systems across turbine and generator units and other critical plant equipment, ensuring safe, reliable and efficient performance. From calibration and commissioning of field instruments to programming control loops and validating sensor data, you will deliver hands on technical excellence in a live power plant environment on Jurong Island and Bukom. You will work with instrumentation vendors and control system suppliers to implement upgrades, perform routine preventive maintenance, and lead small projects with clear milestones.
You will diagnose and troubleshoot instrument and control system faults, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime. Your responsibilities will include documenting configurations, maintaining accurate asset and calibration records, and contributing to safety and regulatory compliance programs. You will participate in shift support as needed, support process safety management, and assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment or modernization initiatives. This role offers opportunities to learn advanced control strategies, PLC and SCADA programming basics, and data trending for process optimization, while partnering with operations and maintenance teams to drive uptime, efficiency, and performance targets.
We value proactive problem solvers who are detail oriented, reliable, and strong communicators. If you thrive in a collaborative, safety focused environment and possess a passion for instrumentation and control systems in power generation, we would like to hear from you. This is a unique chance to contribute to a growing company on the dynamic Jurong Island and Bukom sites while advancing your career in electrical and control engineering.
