What you will do is work across both on prem and cloud environments to support essential services, maintain system health, and drive improvements that reduce downtime and optimize performance. You will partner with Security, Networking, and Applications teams to implement best practices, patch management, and disaster recovery planning. You will own documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures to ensure consistent handoffs and knowledge sharing. You will engage with vendors and internal stakeholders to align on roadmaps and budgets, contributing to a resilient and scalable IT landscape.
Responsibility
- Monitor and maintain core IT infrastructure including Windows and Linux servers, virtualization platforms, storage, and backup systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve incidents with a focus on rapid restoration and root cause analysis.
- Design and implement automation and monitoring to improve reliability and efficiency.
- Coordinate with network, security, and application teams to support delivery of services with defined SLAs.
- Plan capacity, perform performance tuning, and manage software patches and updates.
- Maintain accurate documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures for operations and support.
- Engage with vendors for procurement, integration, and support, ensuring adherence to contracts and SLAs.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in technical systems engineering, IT infrastructure, or a similar role.
- Strong experience with Windows Server and Linux administration, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and basic networking concepts.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (such as AWS or Azure), backup and DR strategies, and scripting/automation (PowerShell, Python, or similar).
- Excellent problem solving, analytical thinking, and effective communication skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Industry certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+/Security+, or equivalent are a plus.
