As Stage Manager, you will oversee all production operations, maintain safety standards, and ensure a seamless performance from curtain rise to curtain call. You’ll lead backstage coordination, communicate with directors and designers, and steward show paperwork with precision.
Responsibility
- Coordinate all stage operations, cues, and paperwork for rehearsals and performances.
- Lead pre-production and technical meetings with directors, designers, and the production team.
- Manage cast and crew call times, rehearsals, set changes, and load-ins/outs.
- Oversee cueing, timing, and show control systems to ensure flawless performances.
- Maintain show documentation, cue sheets, and archival records for each production.
- Ensure health, safety, and risk management compliance in all backstage activities.
- Communicate clearly with venue staff, producers, and creative team to resolve issues quickly.
Qualification
- 3+ years of professional Stage Management experience in live theatre or equivalent.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with cueing software and lighting/sound systems (e.g., Q-Lab, ETC, etc.).
- Strong organizational abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and long rehearsal periods.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards and risk assessment in theatre.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
