Job description

Join Aurora Stage Collective, a premier theatre company known for innovative productions and community engagement. We are seeking a motivated Theatre Production Coordinator to lead the logistical heartbeat of our productions—from rehearsals through opening night and beyond. This role blends project management, stage operations, and creative collaboration to ensure each show runs smoothly, on budget, and with artistic integrity.

As part of our NYC team, you'll partner with directors, designers, and technicians to coordinate schedules, manage resources, and solve problems in real time. We offer competitive compensation, health benefits, commuter perks, and opportunities for professional growth within a vibrant performing arts environment.

Responsibility

  • Develop and maintain production calendars, rehearsal and tech call schedules, and milestone trackers.
  • Coordinate with stage management, designers, and technical teams to ensure on-time cueing and smooth transitions.
  • Oversee production budgets, vendor contracts, and inventory management for theatres, props, and equipment.
  • Assist casting, call-backs, and talent coordination as needed for productions and workshops.
  • Support safety protocols, risk assessments, and compliance with venue regulations.
  • Coordinate load-in/load-out, transportation, and technical setups for performances.
  • Communicate clearly with artists, company members, and leadership; resolve issues with a calm, solution-oriented approach.
  • Contribute to post-show wrap reports and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in theatre, production, arts administration, or equivalent experience.
  • 2-4 years of hands-on experience in theatre production, stage management, or technical coordination.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; adept at stakeholder management.
  • Proficiency with scheduling tools and production software (QLab, ShowShare, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and tech rehearsals as required.
  • Attention to safety, risk assessment, and compliance with venue policies.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative theatre environment and maintain composure under pressure.
