We are seeking a seasoned Theatre Production Manager to oversee multi-show seasons, coordinate creative teams, manage budgets, schedules, and risk. This role requires a hands-on leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and can partner with directors, designers, stage managers, and venue staff to deliver outstanding productions on time and on budget.
As Production Manager, you will guide the production lifecycle from pre-production through wrap, collaborating with artistic leadership to realize ambitious theatrical visions while upholding safety and financial targets.
Responsibility
- Lead production planning for all shows in the season, aligning artistic and technical teams.
- Manage production budgets, procurement, supplier contracts, and cost controls.
- Develop and maintain production calendars, staffing plans, and crew schedules.
- Coordinate load-ins, tech rehearsals, previews, and show operations with stage management.
- Implement safety protocols, risk assessments, and compliance across venues and crews.
- Collaborate with directors, designers, and vendors to execute the artistic vision within budget.
- Oversee post-production wrap, reporting, and archival of materials for future seasons.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Theatre, Arts Management, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years in theatre production, stage management, or equivalent role.
- Proven budget management, contract negotiation, and vendor relationship experience.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills; ability to motivate diverse teams.
- Experience with production software and office tools; proficiency with QLab, Vectorworks, CAD is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask under tight deadlines.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and travel as required by production schedules.
