Gracefield Institute of Theology invites applications for a full-time Theology Lecturer & Research Fellow. This role blends rigorous classroom teaching with active research, mentoring of students, and engagement with diverse faith communities.

The ideal candidate will contribute to both undergraduate and graduate programs, publish in peer‑reviewed venues, and advance the institute's mission to cultivate thoughtful, socially engaged theology.

Responsibility

  • Lead undergraduate and graduate courses in theology and related disciplines, delivering accessible and rigorous instruction.
  • Design inclusive curricula and assessment strategies that reflect diverse faith traditions and learning styles.
  • Develop and supervise independent research projects, theses, and capstone experiences.
  • Conduct publishable research, present at conferences, and contribute to the institute's scholarly profile.
  • Advise students, mentor emerging scholars, and support career development.
  • Collaborate with faculty to develop program offerings, enrichment activities, and community partnerships.
  • Engage in service to the college, accreditation processes, and public-facing theological dialogue.

Qualification

  • PhD or terminal degree in Theology or a closely related field; ABD considered with evidence of progress and strong publications.
  • Two+ years of college or seminary teaching experience with demonstrated effectiveness.
  • Strong research record with publications in peer‑reviewed journals and/or books.
  • Experience teaching in multiple modalities (in-person, online, hybrid) and with diverse student populations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to present complex ideas clearly to varied audiences.
  • Commitment to inclusive pedagogy, mentorship, and fostering a supportive learning environment.
  • Specialization in historical or systematic theology preferred; willingness to contribute to core curriculum.
  • Ability to collaborate across departments and engage with local faith communities and ecumenical partners.
