Harborview Seminary & University invites applications for a Theology Professor to join our dynamic School of Theology. We seek a scholar-practitioner who can teach undergraduate and graduate courses, mentor students, and contribute to a vibrant academic and spiritual community. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellence in research and teaching, and a commitment to inclusive education.
As a member of our faculty, you will design and deliver rigorous coursework, advance interdisciplinary collaboration, and contribute to the formation of thoughtful, ethically engaged leaders.
Responsibility
- Teach a diverse set of Theology and Religious Studies courses across undergraduate and graduate programs.
- Develop and implement innovative curricula that integrate faith, ethics, and critical thinking.
- Supervise student research, theses, and capstone projects; provide mentorship and career guidance.
- Engage in scholarly research and publish in peer‑reviewed venues; present at conferences.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum design, assessment, and program development.
- Participate in campus life, including spiritual formation programs and interfaith dialogue.
- Engage in service, accreditation processes, and faculty governance as needed.
Qualification
- Terminal degree in Theology, Religious Studies, or a closely related field (PhD preferred).
- Strong record of teaching effectiveness and student mentorship.
- Active research agenda with publications and ongoing scholarship.
- Ability to teach a range of topics (Biblical Studies, Hermeneutics, Systematic Theology, Church History).
- Experience with digital pedagogy, online learning, and curriculum design.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching and campus life.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
