Bayview Theological Institute, a premier faith-based educational community, invites applications for a full-time tenure-track theology professorship beginning Fall 2026. We seek a scholar with a strong record of teaching, research, and commitment to theological education that integrates faith, critical inquiry, and community engagement.
The ideal candidate will contribute to undergraduate and graduate programs, supervise theses, and participate in curriculum development within our department of Theology and Religious Studies. The role offers opportunity for research, collaboration with local faith communities, and service on committees critical to accreditation and program advancement.
Responsibility
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in theology and related disciplines.
- Develop and curate curricula and course materials aligned with program outcomes.
- Mentor students, supervise theses and capstone projects, and support student spiritual formation.
- Conduct and publish scholarly research in theology, biblical studies, or related fields; engage in conference presentations.
- Contribute to program development and accreditation processes; participate in service on department, college, and community committees.
- Engage with local churches and partner institutions for practical training, community outreach, and field education.
- Foster inclusive classroom environments and mentorship for diverse student populations.
Qualification
- PhD in Theology, Religious Studies, Biblical Studies, or related field from an accredited institution.
- Demonstrated excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching; minimum 5 years of teaching experience is preferred.
- Strong publication record and an active research agenda.
- Proficiency in original languages such as Greek and Hebrew; additional languages are a plus.
- Ability to design and deliver courses across modalities including in person and online.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching and scholarship.
- Experience contributing to program development and accreditation or external funding is desirable.
