We are seeking a hands-on Transportation Operations Manager to optimize fleet performance, lead cross-functional teams, and drive data-driven decisions that improve service reliability and cost efficiency.

As a key member of our operations leadership, you will partner with logistics, procurement, maintenance, and technology teams to execute end-to-end transportation workflows, monitor KPIs, and implement best practices in routing, scheduling, and safety compliance.

Responsibility

  • Lead the day-to-day transportation operations for a multi-site fleet, ensuring on-time delivery and cost efficiency.
  • Develop and optimize routes, workloads, and capacity planning to maximize fleet utilization.
  • Create and monitor KPI dashboards (OTIF, on-time pickups, cost per mile, fuel efficiency) and drive data-driven improvements.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, procurement, and third-party carriers to coordinate fleet lifecycle and service quality.
  • Implement safety programs, regulatory compliance, and driver training to maintain high safety standards.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using lean principles, process mapping, and efficiency projects.
  • Manage budget, vendor relationships, and contract negotiations with carriers and service providers.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years in transportation or logistics operations, with fleet management experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using TMS, SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools.
  • Proven ability to optimize routes, negotiate with carriers, and coordinate maintenance.
  • Knowledge of federal/state transportation regulations and safety compliance requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
  • Project management experience and a bias for action in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work in the Los Angeles area and travel as needed.
