As a Truck Mechanic you will work on diesel engines, electrical systems, brakes and transmissions, and related components. This hands on role requires diagnostic accuracy, preventive maintenance, and the ability to work with a range of tools and diagnostic equipment. You will collaborate with fleet managers to plan maintenance, perform road tests, document findings, and implement solutions that minimize downtime.

Responsibility
- Perform routine maintenance and preventive servicing on trucks and diesel engines to keep the fleet in optimal condition.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using standard tools and diagnostic equipment; repair or replace faulty components.
- Inspect brakes, steering, suspension, exhaust, and transmissions; schedule and execute repairs or part replacements as needed.
- Record all maintenance activities and repairs in the service log; communicate findings and timelines to fleet supervisors.
- Test drive repaired vehicles to verify performance and safety; document test results and any adjustments made.
- Assist in planning preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend asset life.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with safety standards and company policies.
Qualification
- Proven experience as a truck mechanic or diesel mechanic, with hands on repair experience on heavy vehicles.
- Technical diploma or certification in automotive or diesel technology.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, and diagnostic tools.
- Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals and electrical diagrams; basic computer skills for data entry.
- Excellent problem solving, teamwork, and communication skills; ability to work independently when required.
- Willingness to work on a shift or overtime as needed and adhere to safety protocols.
