Indigo is seeking a dedicated Upper Primary English Tutor to join our vibrant education team in Singapore. In this role, you will deliver dynamic and engaging lessons that foster curiosity, critical thinking, and meaningful discussion among students. You will craft and adapt teaching materials to align with the upper primary curriculum, ensuring content is accessible, challenging, and relevant. You will employ a variety of instructional strategiesāsuch as inquiry-based learning, collaborative projects, and targeted formative assessmentāto support students in building strong literacy skills, confident communication, and a lifelong love of reading.
As a tutor with Indigo, you will plan sessions around individual and class needs, monitor progress, and provide timely feedback to students and parents. You will integrate technology and multimedia resources to enhance learning outcomes while maintaining a structured, inclusive classroom environment. Collaboration with subject peers and teachers is essential to align with school-wide goals, share best practices, and contribute to ongoing curriculum development. The role offers flexible engagement (full-time or part-time) to suit school schedules and family commitments, with opportunities for professional growth and ongoing training.

Responsibility
- Plan, deliver, and differentiate engaging upper primary English lessons aligned to the curriculum using a mix of instructional strategies.
- Assess and monitor student progress through regular formative and summative assessments; track data and provide actionable feedback to students and parents.
- Develop and adapt teaching materials, resources, and differentiated activities to meet diverse learning needs, including gifted, average, and students requiring additional support.
- Establish and maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment with clear expectations and effective classroom management.
- Integrate technology and digital tools (e.g., learning platforms, interactive apps, multimedia resources) to enhance instruction and student engagement.
- Collaborate with colleagues, subject teams, and parents to align learning goals, share best practices, and contribute to school-wide literacy initiatives.
- Participate in professional development, curriculum development, and school activities to continuously improve teaching practices and student outcomes.
Qualification
- Bachelorās degree in Education, English, or a relevant teaching qualification (Teaching certification in Singapore or equivalent).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching English to upper primary students (Primary 5ā6) or equivalent.
- Strong command of English grammar, literature, reading, writing, speaking, and listening; ability to teach across all four language domains.
- Demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction and design inclusive lesson plans for diverse learners.
- Experience with formative assessment design and analyzing student data to inform instruction.
- Excellent classroom management, communication with students and caregivers, and a student-centered teaching style.
- Proficiency with technology-enabled learning tools and platforms; willingness to embrace new tools and best practices.
