As a Virtual Estimator, youâll combine technical analysis with practical business sense. Youâll review project drawings and specifications, develop itemized cost estimates, and maintain clear, auditable records. Your work will support stakeholders across project management, engineering, and procurement, helping to optimize cost, schedule, and value. Youâll leverage estimation software and robust Excel models, performing scenario analyses, risk assessments, and value-engineering opportunities to maximize project value while staying within budget.

Responsibility
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects based on drawings, specifications, and procurement data.
- Collaborate with project managers, designers, suppliers, and engineers to obtain accurate quotes and up-to-date pricing.
- Create and maintain bill of materials (BOM), itemized pricing, and risk assessments for each project.
- Review design changes, perform impact analyses, and update estimates promptly to reflect scope modifications.
- Utilize estimation software and Excel-based models to conduct scenario planning, line-item pricing, and contingency analysis.
- Communicate estimates clearly to clients and internal stakeholders, offering value-engineering suggestions where appropriate.
- Ensure estimates align with client requirements, budgets, and project timelines while maintaining data integrity.
Qualification
- Proven experience as an estimator or cost analyst, preferably in construction, manufacturing, or architectural projects.
- Strong proficiency with Excel, estimation software, and ERP/project management tools.
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication; ability to present complex data clearly.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Familiarity with Australian client expectations, procurement processes, and international collaboration is a plus.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CIM, RICS, or quantity surveying) are advantageous.
