Private Advertiser invites applications for a Warehouse Assistant based in Shah Alam, Selangor, supporting our Bandar Sultan Sulaiman operations. In this role, you will be part of a small but dedicated warehousing team responsible for receiving, inspecting, and storing steel products, including flat and long stock. You will assist with inventory control, pick-and-pack orders, and prepare goods for delivery or transfer to other sites. You will support the logistics team by documenting transactions, updating stock levels in our system, and maintaining a safe, clean, and organized workspace. A strong eye for detail and a proactive attitude will help us minimize errors and reduce downtime in the supply chain.
To succeed in this role, you should be reliable, able to lift moderate heavy items, and comfortable using basic warehouse software or spreadsheets. Responsibility
- Receive and inspect incoming steel shipments against packing lists.
- Unload goods from trucks using appropriate equipment and store in designated locations.
- Accurately perform stock counts and update inventory records in the ERP/warehouse system.
- Pick and pack orders for delivery or transfer to customers or other sites.
- Prepare goods for shipping, labeling, and ensuring correct documentation.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment; observe safety procedures.
- Coordinate with sales and procurement teams to resolve stock discrepancies and lead times.
- Assist with cycle counts, quality checks, and reporting of any damaged goods.
Qualification
- Minimum secondary education; warehouse experience preferred but not required.
- Basic numeracy and literacy; comfortable with data entry and simple calculations.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy items up to 25-50 kg; ability to stand for long periods.
- Attention to detail, reliability, and a proactive approach to safety.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a small team.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to warehouse software or ERP systems.
- Knowledge of basic forklift operations is a plus (where permitted and trained).
