Responsibility
- Lead end-to-end WASH project lifecycle from concept through closeout, ensuring alignment with donor guidelines and local needs.
- Design technical solutions for water supply, sanitation facilities, and hygiene promotion tailored to community context.
- Coordinate multi-stakeholder partnerships with local government, utilities, NGOs, and community groups.
- Oversee project planning, budgeting, procurement, and contractor management to meet milestones and quality standards.
- Monitor and evaluate program performance using logical frameworks and data-driven indicators; compile compelling donor and partner reports.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations; promote gender equality and social inclusion in all activities.
- Build local capacity by mentoring staff and partners, delivering training, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Advocate for sustainable water and sanitation policies and scalable practices within the region.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Public Health, Civil Engineering, or related field; a master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in WASH program management or water utilities.
- Proven track record in donor-funded projects (e.g., grants from international agencies) and project reporting.
- Strong technical knowledge of water treatment, sanitation systems, and hygiene promotion; experience with M&E frameworks.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and proposal-writing skills.
- Ability to manage budgets, procurement processes, and risk mitigation while maintaining high ethical standards.
- Proficiency in data analysis, GIS, and data visualization tools is a plus.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages a bonus and willingness to travel within the region.
