Join a leading waste management company focused on sustainable waste practices. We are seeking a passionate Waste Management Engineer to optimize collections, recycling initiatives, and regulatory compliance across municipal and commercial channels.
This role blends field operations with data-driven decision making to reduce environmental impact while improving service reliability.
Responsibility
- Develop and optimize waste collection routes, schedules, and resource allocation to maximize efficiency and minimize emissions.
- Lead recycling and composting programs, tracking diversion rates and ensuring program adherence with local regulations.
- Monitor regulatory compliance (EPA/OSHA/municipal) and prepare reporting, permits, and documentation.
- Collaborate with operations, procurement, and community partners to design sustainable waste management solutions.
- Analyze data from ERP/CMMS systems, generate performance dashboards, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct site assessments, risk analyses, and environmental impact studies.
- Manage contractor relationships, safety programs, and training for field crews.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in waste management, sustainability, or operations.
- Strong knowledge of waste regulations (RCRA, EPA, local codes) and reporting requirements.
- Proficiency with data analysis tools (Excel, SQL/GIS is a plus) and basic project management.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives and adapt to changing priorities.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% as needed.
