Job description
We are seeking a results-driven Waste Management Lead to join our expanding environmental services team in Austin, TX. This role focuses on regulatory compliance, project leadership, and sustainable waste programs for municipal and commercial clients.
As part of our team, you will design and implement waste reduction initiatives, oversee site operations, coordinate hazardous waste handling, and ensure safety and environmental standards are met.
Responsibility
- Oversee daily waste operations across multiple client sites, ensuring efficiency, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Develop and implement comprehensive waste management programs that meet local, state, and federal regulations.
- Lead hazardous waste handling procedures, including segregation, storage, and proper disposal.
- Monitor performance metrics, analyze data to reduce waste volume, and report findings to clients and leadership.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and related environmental standards; lead audits and inspections.
- Manage client relationships, provide innovative solutions, and prepare proposals and cost estimates.
- Collaborate with operations, procurement, and sustainability teams to optimize routes, equipment, and efficiency.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in waste management or environmental services; project management experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of EPA/OSHA regulations, RCRA, DOT, and SPCC where applicable.
- Excellent analytical and data-driven decision-making abilities; experience with waste tracking systems.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
- Ability to travel up to 20% and work flexible hours as required.
- Proficiency with MS Office; experience with GIS or waste management software is a plus.
