Job description
GreenFlow Waste Solutions is seeking a seasoned Waste Management Project Engineer to lead transformative projects in our San Francisco office. This role blends environmental science, project leadership, and strategic operations to optimize waste streams, improve diversion rates, and ensure regulatory compliance across multiple facilities.
As a key member of our sustainability team, you will drive end-to-end initiatives from scoping to execution, partner with cross-functional teams, and communicate progress to executives and stakeholders.
Responsibility
- Lead waste management projects from concept through execution, ensuring milestones, quality, and budget adherence
- Develop and implement waste diversion strategies that improve recycling and composting rates
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations including RCRA and CEQA as applicable
- Analyze waste data, prepare dashboards, and report performance to leadership
- Coordinate with operations, engineering, procurement, and external partners to drive project success
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and risk assessment with proactive mitigation plans
- Champion continuous improvement and sustainability metrics across facilities
Qualification
- Bachelors degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, or related field; Masters preferred
- 5+ years of experience in waste management or environmental compliance
- Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering complex initiatives
- Experience with data analysis tools and environmental reporting
- Solid knowledge of ISO 14001, RCRA, and related permitting processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to travel up to 20% as needed
