EcoGuard Waste Management is seeking a results-driven Waste Management Project Manager to join our Houston team. This role leads strategic projects that advance diversion, improve operational efficiency, and ensure strict regulatory compliance across municipal, commercial, and industrial waste streams.

You will partner with operations, engineering, and vendor teams to optimize routes, processing facilities, and technology deployments that reduce environmental impact while delivering cost savings and safe, compliant operations.

Responsibility

  • Lead cross-functional waste management projects from initiation to completion, including diversion strategies and facility optimization.
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, budgets, schedules, and performance metrics to meet business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations (EPA, RCRA, TCEQ, and applicable local ordinances).
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, procurement, and vendors to optimize fleets, routes, processing facilities, and waste-to-value initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement using Lean/Six Sigma methodologies to reduce costs and environmental footprint.
  • Prepare and present project status, risk assessments, and regulatory updates to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Manage contractor relationships, procurement activities, and safety programs for project execution.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years in waste management, environmental compliance, or sustainability project management.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks (EPA, RCRA, and state/local environmental rules; experience with Texas TCEQ is a plus).
  • Proven project management experience; PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, Excel, and GIS; familiarity with EHS software and CMMS is a plus.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% as needed to support field activities.
