Join a premier environmental services organization as a Waste Program Manager in Austin, TX. You will design and oversee comprehensive waste reduction programs, ensure regulatory compliance, and partner with municipal and industrial clients to deliver sustainable, cost-effective solutions.
Responsibility
- Lead planning and execution of waste management operations across multiple sites, ensuring safety and efficiency.
- Develop and implement waste reduction and recycling programs that meet client goals and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and optimize waste collection, sorting, and disposal processes to minimize costs and environmental impact.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and vendor relationships; track performance metrics and report to leadership.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations (RCRA, OSHA, DOT) and maintain up-to-date documentation.
- Collaborate with municipal partners, customers, and internal teams to drive continuous improvement and sustainability initiatives.
- Lead safety training, incident investigation, and a strong safety culture across operations.
Qualification
- Bachelor degree in Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or related field; masters preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in waste management, environmental services, or related operations.
- Strong knowledge of waste regulations, permits, and compliance frameworks (RCRA, DOT, OSHA).
- Proven project management skills; PMP or Lean Six Sigma is a plus.
- Data analytics capability with proficiency in Excel, dashboards, and reporting tools.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Experience with GIS, asset management, and budgeting.
- Willingness to travel to client sites and operate in field environments when needed.
