We are looking for a skilled Water and Sanitation Engineer to lead design, implementation, and monitoring of projects that improve access to safe water and hygienic sanitation.
In this role you will collaborate with municipal authorities, communities, and technical partners to ensure compliant, sustainable infrastructure. You will manage project life cycles, prepare designs, budgets, and schedules, and ensure compliance with local standards and international best practices.
Key contributions include optimized hydraulic designs, water treatment assessments, sanitation facility planning, and robust monitoring and evaluation. You will mentor junior engineers and drive quality and safety across all activities.

Responsibility
- Lead end to end planning and design of water supply and sanitation systems for urban and peri urban settings.
- Perform hydraulic modeling and design calculations using industry standard tools.
- Prepare technical proposals, budgets, schedules, and procurement plans.
- Coordinate with government agencies, utilities, and community groups for safe implementation.
- Oversee construction, commissioning, and handover with quality assurance and safety oversight.
- Develop monitoring, operation and maintenance plans and ensure sustainable performance.
- Provide mentorship and capacity building for local engineering staff and contractors.
Qualification
- Bachelor in Civil Engineering or Water Resources or related field; Master preferred.
- 5+ years experience in water supply, sanitation, or WASH project delivery.
- Proficient in hydraulic modeling tools and GIS; AutoCAD experience.
- Knowledge of local codes, regulations, and environmental standards in Kenya.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and report writing skills.
- WASH sector familiarity and project management certification is a plus.
