Join AquaNova WASH Solutions, a leading consultancy delivering sustainable water and sanitation programs across East Africa. We are seeking a highly skilled Water & Sanitation Engineer to drive project design, implementation, and impact in Nairobi, Kenya.
This full-time role offers a unique opportunity to shape critical infrastructure, improve community health, and work with cross-functional teams across public and private sectors.
You will lead technical design, assessments, and field supervision to ensure durable, safe, and scalable water and sanitation solutions that meet donor and local standards.
Responsibility
- Lead end-to-end design and implementation of water supply and sanitation systems in urban and rural settings.
- Conduct feasibility studies, hydraulic modeling, and water quality testing; prepare technical designs and bill of materials.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, including government agencies, communities, and partners; ensure community engagement and acceptance.
- Oversee project procurement, contractor management, and progress reporting to donors and clients.
- Ensure compliance with local and international WASH standards, environmental and safety regulations.
- Mentor junior engineers and field staff; build capacity within partner organizations.
- Monitor and evaluate project outcomes, develop data-driven improvements, and contribute to grant reporting.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in WASH projects, preferably with donor-funded programs.
- Strong knowledge of water supply, sanitation system design, and hydraulics; proficiency in hydraulic modeling tools is a plus.
- Experience with GIS and data analysis for water and sanitation planning.
- Excellent project management, communication, and report-writing skills; fluent in English; knowledge of local languages is a plus.
- Ability to work in diverse teams and field environments; willingness to travel regionally.
- Professional licensure or certification in engineering is preferred.
