AquaNova Solutions is a premier engineering firm focused on sustainable water and sanitation solutions across East Africa. We are seeking a highly skilled Water & Sanitation Project Engineer to lead end-to-end delivery of projects from concept to commissioning and operation.
In this role you will work with municipal agencies, utilities, and community partners to design resilient water systems, ensure regulatory compliance, and achieve measurable improvements in access to safe water and sanitation.

Responsibility
- Lead technical design and optimization of water supply and sanitation infrastructure, including pipelines, pump stations, and treatment facilities.
- Perform hydraulic modelling and analyses using EPANET, WaterGEMS, and related tools.
- Prepare technical specifications, bid documents, and contract documents; support procurement and vendor selection.
- Oversee construction supervision, QA/QC, commissioning, and safe work practices on site.
- Engage with municipal agencies, utilities, and community stakeholders to ensure inclusive, sustainable design and timely approvals.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, risk registers, and reporting to clients and funders.
- Develop operation-and-maintenance handover plans and provide training to utility staff and operators.
Qualification
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Water Resources, or a related field.
- 5+ years of proven experience in water and sanitation projects, including design, implementation, and commissioning.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification preferred.
- Strong proficiency with hydraulic modelling and design software (EPANET, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, WaterGEMS).
- Solid understanding of Kenyan/East African standards, permits, and regulatory processes.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and report-writing skills; fluent in English.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, and cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
