Join AquaForward Solutions, a leading water and sanitation consultancy driving resilient WASH solutions across East Africa. We are seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead multi-stakeholder water and sanitation programs in Nairobi, Kenya. The ideal candidate combines engineering or public health background with strong program management, funding stewardship, and community engagement skills. You will design, implement, and monitor projects that improve access to safe water and sanitation services for underserved populations, while ensuring cost-effectiveness, compliance, and sustainability.

Responsibility
- Lead end-to-end lifecycle of WASH projects from design through closeout, ensuring quality, safety, and on-time delivery.
- Develop detailed project plans, budgets, procurement plans, and resource allocations; monitor progress and adjust as needed.
- Coordinate with engineers, M&E specialists, finance, procurement, and field teams to ensure integrated implementation.
- Engage with government agencies, local authorities, and community stakeholders to secure approvals and foster ownership.
- Establish robust monitoring, evaluation, and learning frameworks; track indicators and report donor and partner progress.
- Oversee risk management, compliance with donor requirements, and implementation of sustainability and handover strategies.
- Build local capacity through training, mentoring, and knowledge transfer to ensure long-term impact.
Qualification
- Master’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Public Health, or a related field; PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
- 7+ years of experience managing WASH projects in low- and middle-income settings; track record of delivering outcomes on time and within budget.
- Strong technical knowledge in water supply systems, sanitation facilities, hygiene promotion, and infection prevention practices.
- Experience with donor reporting, grant management, budgeting, and procurement; proficiency with project management tools and data analysis.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, community facilitation, and cross-cultural communication skills; fluency in English; Swahili a plus.
- Ability to lead diverse teams, manage competing priorities, and work effectively in low-resource environments.
- Proven ability to analyze data, develop evidence-based recommendations, and present complex information to non-technical audiences.
