We are seeking a skilled Water and Sanitation Specialist to lead program design, implementation, and impact across communities in Nairobi. This role blends technical excellence with stakeholder collaboration to deliver sustainable WASH solutions that improve health outcomes.
In this full-time role, you will work with cross-functional teams and local partners to ensure projects meet quality, budget, and timeline requirements, while adhering to donor standards and local regulations.
Responsibility
- Lead the design, planning, and implementation of water supply, sanitation, and hygiene WASH projects from concept to completion.
- Conduct feasibility assessments, hydrogeological analysis, hydraulic modeling, and data driven decision making.
- Develop and monitor project budgets, procurement plans, and grants management to ensure cost effectiveness.
- Lead M&E activities including baseline and endline surveys, WASH indicators, and donor reporting.
- Engage communities, local governments, and partners to ensure inclusive, gender-sensitive approaches and sustainability.
- Prepare technical reports, design drawings, BoQ, and support grant proposals.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards; perform risk assessments.
Qualification
- Bachelor degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in WASH program design and implementation.
- Strong knowledge of water supply systems, sanitation technologies, fecal sludge management, and behavior change strategies.
- Proficiency with GIS, AutoCAD or Civil 3D, and data analytics.
- Experience with donor-funded projects and M&E frameworks.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and project management skills.
- Understanding of Kenyan regulatory and permitting processes.
