We’re seeking a results-oriented Water & Sanitation Specialist to design, implement, and monitor critical WASH programs that expand access to clean water and safe sanitation.
In this role, you’ll collaborate with local governments, NGOs, and communities to ensure projects meet standards for water quality, hygiene promotion, and environmental protection. You’ll leverage data, adapt interventions to urban and peri-urban contexts, and help build resilient water systems for the long term.

Responsibility
- Lead design, implementation, and monitoring of water supply and sanitation projects that meet community needs and quality standards.
- Conduct needs assessments, feasibility studies, hydraulic modeling, and water safety plans.
- Coordinate field teams, contractors, and local authorities to ensure timely, on-budget delivery.
- Develop and monitor performance indicators (WASH KPIs), conduct M&E activities, and prepare reports for donors and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with national and local regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines.
- Lead community engagement and hygiene promotion campaigns to maximize uptake and sustainability.
- Support grant proposals, budgeting, procurement planning, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Represent the organization in coordination meetings, technical workshops, and advocacy forums.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Civil/Environmental/Water Resources Engineering, Public Health, or related field; master's preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in WASH project design, implementation, and M&E in developing contexts.
- Strong knowledge of water supply engineering, sanitation technologies, and water quality testing protocols.
- Experience with GIS, hydraulic modeling, and data analytics; proficiency in MS Office and data visualization tools.
- Excellent stakeholder management and community engagement skills; fluent in English; local language is a plus.
- Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and vendor relationships; strong problem solving and communication skills.
- Commitment to WASH sector ethics, inclusivity, and gender equality; willingness to travel to project sites.
- Professional certifications (e.g., WASH in Health, CGWP, CPWASH, or equivalent) are a plus.
